Richard A. Machonkin is Chair of MBHB’s Networking & Telecommunications Practice Group and the firm’s Education Committee. Clients in the optical technology, mechanical and diagnostics industries seek his counsel as they work to build their patent portfolios. His patent prosecution experience includes numerous successful appeals to the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (formerly the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences).
In addition to his patent prosecution work, Mr. Machonkin supports clients in patent litigation. He has litigated patent cases in federal courts at the trial court and appellate court levels. He also prepares opinions for clients regarding the patentability of inventions and the noninfringement and invalidity of issued U.S. patents.
