McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP is proud to be an official sponsor of the ChIPs Women in IP Global Summit 2016 set for September 14-16, 2016 in Washington, DC. MBHB partners Jennifer Kurcz and Nicole Reifman are set to attend on behalf of the firm.
Limited capacity, invitation-only sessions, including the annual Hall of Fame/Speakers Dinner, the ever-popular mock exercise, and our inaugural Next Gen Conference will take place September 14. Confirmed speakers this year include Nina Totenberg (NPR), Hon. Mazie Hirono (US Senate), Jamie Gorelick (WilmerHale; Amazon.com board).
Past Summits have been sold-out events, bringing together hundreds of women from a wide array of backgrounds to advance the progress of innovation, leadership and equality. Past speakers have included members of government such as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and FTC Chair Edith Ramirez; board directors, CEOs and founders, and journalists such as Mary Cranston (Visa, Juniper, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Boards), Julie Hanna (Kiva.org; PAGE), Heidi Messer (Collective[i]), Kara Goldin (HintWater) and Pattie Sellers (Fortune); and attorneys such as Dorian Daley (Oracle GC), Louise Pentland (Paypal GC; Hitachi Board), and Erika Rottenberg (former SVP/GC of LinkedIn).
ChIPs was founded by seven women heads of patents and intellectual property from major technology companies in Silicon Valley with the mission of supporting and promoting the advancement, development and retention of women in technology and IP. The organization leads initiatives and holds events to further these goals, including through substantive and inspiring speakers, relationship building, mentoring, education, best-practice sharing and other forms of support. Since its inception, membership in ChIPs has steadily grown through word of mouth, and the organization has now expanded nationwide.
